President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, the former Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, as the new Minister for Defence in a recent ministerial reshuffle. According to a statement from the Presidency, the President has reassigned Mr. Adjei to the Defence Ministry and has submitted these changes to Parliament through the Speaker, in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
Additionally, Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, has been reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources. President Mahama has also nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP, as the Minister-designate for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Mahama Ayariga as the Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs. These nominations are subject to approval by Parliament.
