11 injured in head-on collision on Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway

A vehicular crash at Eduadjei on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway has left 11 people injured. According to the Central Regional Fire Service, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when an Opel Astra (WR 4860-13), travelling from Cape Coast toward Komenda, collided head-on with a Nissan minibus (CR 1414-23) coming from Takoradi to Cape Coast.

Ten passengers on the Nissan minibus—eight males and two females—were rescued by passersby and taken to the Elmina Polyclinic for treatment. Fire personnel at the scene worked diligently to free the driver of the Opel Astra, who was trapped after the collision. He was also transported to the Elmina Polyclinic by the National Ambulance Service.

Rescue teams cleared debris from the road to restore traffic flow and ensure safety at the accident site. Officials said the cause of the accident has not yet been determined and is subject to ongoing investigations.
