Two Police Officers interdicted for alleged extortion from motor rider

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two police officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra. The incident reportedly occurred on July 22, 2024.

On August 9, 2024, two officers were immediately placed under investigation following viral allegations that caught the attention of police leadership, according to a brief police statement. The statement also confirmed that the officers are currently cooperating with the investigation and will undergo due process under the law.
