Police impound truck suspected to be carrying missing ECG cables

The Agona Swedru Divisional Police Command has seized a truck loaded with electrical cables, which are suspected to be part of the missing containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) at Tema Port. The truck, registered as GC 7410-11, was intercepted in Gomoa Awombrew, located in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region.

According to sources from Citi News, a vehicle broke down near Awombrew in Agona Swedru, raising suspicions about its cargo. A subsequent inspection resulted in the arrest of the driver and three passengers. Police sources confirmed that all four suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine the origin and intended destination of the cables.
