NRSA cautions against patronage of Toyota Voxy vehicles

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has issued a warning to the public regarding the use of the recently banned Toyota Voxy vehicles. The authority states that these vehicles are designed as right-hand drive, and converting them to left-hand drive for public transportation is a violation of manufacturer regulations, posing significant safety risks to passengers. The NRSA emphasises that Toyota Voxy vehicles were specifically manufactured as family minivans and are not intended for long-distance commercial transport.

The conversion of the vehicle from right-hand drive to left-hand drive was carried out without approved standards or certification, compromising critical safety systems and increasing the risk of mechanical failure during operations. Passengers have been advised to avoid using this vehicle, particularly for long-distance travel. The National Roads Authority (NRSA), in collaboration with relevant institutions, is taking steps to enhance safety for the travelling public.
