“Not everyone is merry” – McDan appeals for kindness this Christmas

Business magnate Daniel McKorley, widely known as McDan, has urged Ghanaians to embrace compassion this Christmas, stressing that for many households the season has shifted from celebration to mere survival. In his holiday message, McKorley highlighted how growing economic hardship has left countless families without food, struggling to meet rent, or grieving the loss of loved ones.

He noted that what was once a modestly manageable festive period for low-income families has now become unattainable, with essentials such as chicken, beef, rice, and fish priced beyond reach for many.

McKorley observed that the true spirit of the season contrasts sharply with the familiar image of joy and abundance. While some households prepare for festivities, many others are simply struggling to make it through each day. He emphasised that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring profound relief in such challenging times. A simple gift—like 100 cedis—may seem trivial to some, yet for someone in need it could be a lifeline and a blessing.

As the year draws to a close, he urged Ghanaians to embrace compassion and generosity in whatever ways they can. McKorley concluded his message by extending warm holiday wishes and goodwill from the McKorley family to families across the nation.
