Mobile telecommunication leaders MTN have suspended the decision to increase Mobile Money fees. The decision, which will see a 1% charge on transactions up to GH¢2,000 and a flat rate of GH¢20 for transactions above, was to take effect from Saturday, July 1.
But the telecommunication giants say the decision has been put on hold indefinitely. “The panned review of cash-out fees for MoMo, scheduled for July 1, 2023, has been put on hold until further notice,” MTN Ghana said on Monday, June 26. “The current cash-out fee of GH¢10 still applies and will be charged to your wallet. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Just MoMo it.”
