Mahama inaugurates 19-member ‘120-days social contract’ task force

President John Dramani Mahama has established a 120-day task force to oversee the implementation of social contracts during his first 120 days in office. The 19-member task force was officially inaugurated at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, February 11th. In August 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) introduced its manifesto for the upcoming general elections, outlining a comprehensive plan aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy, alleviating economic hardships, and promoting good governance.

Speaking at the launch in Winneba, Mr Mahama, criticized the elsewhere New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for what he described as “abysmal performance,” highlighting issues such as high inflation, currency depreciation, and rising unemployment. Mr. Mahama pledged to rejuvenate Ghana’s economy through a 120-day social contract where he will deliver on some 26 key transformational initiatives. The members of the task force are as follows:

  5. Hon. Dominic Ayine – Attorney General
  6. Hon. Haruna Iddrisu – Minister for Education
  7. Hon. Dzifa Gomashie – Minister for Tourism
  8. Hon. George Opare Addo- Minister for Youth Development
  9. Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey – Minister-Designate for Gender
  10. Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh – Minister for Health
  11. Hon. Rashid Pelpuo – Minister for Employment
  12. Hon. Kofi Armah Buah – Minister for Lands & Mineral Resources
  13. Hon. Sam George – Minister for Communication, Digital Technology & Innovation
  14. Hon. Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment
  15. Mr Goosie Tanoh – Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy
  16. Mr Prosper Bani – National Security Adviser
  17. Kofi Boakye – Director of Operations
  18. Francis Dodoo – Presidential Adviser
