Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to initiate a bold transformation agenda aimed at strengthening the economy and uniting the nation under a clear, long-term development vision. Speaking during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Tuesday, July 1, at the State House in Accra, the esteemed clergyman called on President Mahama to seize his opportunity for impactful leadership.
“Mr. President, within three years, make a difference. Change the narrative of Ghana and ensure the Cedi flourishes under your leadership,” he declared, earning strong applause from the congregation.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams emphasized the importance of cultivating a values-based national identity rooted in patriotism and faith. “We need to develop a deep love for God and a strong love for our country, Ghana,” he remarked, cautioning against the political divisions that hinder national progress. He also called for the swift development of a comprehensive national agenda, akin to the long-term plans seen in countries like China, India, and Dubai, which have 100-year national visions that extend beyond political cycles.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he added. The National Day of Prayer brought together political leaders, clergy, and civil society groups to intercede for peace, unity, and direction for the nation under the theme of thanksgiving and hope.
