NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has unveiled plans to establish a $96 million ethanol and starch processing facility in the Volta Region by February 2026. He announced that 10,000 acres of land have been secured for the project, with each plant requiring a total of 12,500 acres to produce 200,000 liters of ethanol per day. The facility is expected to have a daily capacity of 200,000 liters of ethanol, which will contribute to Ghana’s industrial-scale ethanol production and potentially reduce the country’s reliance on imports.
The project aims to boost Ghana’s economy by promoting industrialization, creating jobs, and addressing the country’s energy needs through ethanol production. Additionally, Mr. Agyapong plans to establish another ethanol plant in the Central Region with the same production capacity, which will be developed concurrently with the Volta Region project.
