The Manhyia Palace has announced that the final funeral rites for the late highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, will now take place on December 13, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of December 6. This decision was made during a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee, chaired by Dadiesoabahene, was appointed to oversee the arrangements.
During the meeting, Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempomaa, requested that a postmortem be conducted due to her suspicions of foul play surrounding her brother’s death. She further asked that the burial and funeral be postponed until the results of the test are available to determine the exact cause of death.
Regarding the invocation of the Great Oath, Akosua Brempomaa, who performed the ritual, has been pardoned by the Asantehene. However, she was cautioned to refrain from such actions in the future.
