An Accra High Court has ordered the immediate restoration of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited, reversing a recent takeover of the property associated with business mogul Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar.
Delivering judgment on Friday, August 21, 2026, Justice John-Mark Nuku Alifo declared the July 23 takeover by Nii Amanor Dodoo and Cola Holdings Limited unlawful and in violation of Court of Appeal rules. The court directed the respondents to return possession of the hotel without delay and to hand over all keys, access codes, financial records, books, and monies seized during their takeover.
Court orders supervised handover
Justice Nuku Alifo further directed that the handover be conducted under the supervision of the High Court Registrar. The court said a joint inventory of the hotel, its assets and other items in the respondents’ possession must be conducted as part of the handover process. The respondents were additionally ordered to submit full financial accounts relating to the receivership within seven days.
The ruling effectively reverses the July 23 takeover and restores Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited’s possession of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel, subject to any further legal proceedings arising from the dispute.
