Adenta Circuit Court grants Counsellor Lutterodt GH¢50,000 bail

The Adenta Circuit Court has granted bail to Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, following his arraignment for allegedly urging youth to storm the residence of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba with pickaxes. He faces one charge of offensive conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace. Lutterodt pleaded not guilty and was admitted to bail set at GH¢50,000, with two sureties required to be justified

Prosecution’s case

According to the prosecution, Counsellor Lutterodt, a biomedical clinical engineer who resides at SSNIT Flats in Adenta, Accra, was arrested after police saw a viral video circulating on Facebook. In the video, which was shared on the platform Kwesi TV on Monday, March 9, 2026, the accused was allegedly heard making statements calling on some youth to storm the residence of the late musician. The charge sheet quoted the accused as saying: “if it is true that Lumba as it is alleged has been buried in the house, I want to ask the Ga boys in Accra that we shouldn’t wait for the Police, let’s move to the residence of Lumba and I am calling action now for the desigration of the land walk to the house with pick axe.

“We are not against any individual. Enter Lumba’s residence and let us discover where the body has been buried,” the accused allegedly stated in a video that prompted his arrest, according to the prosecution. Investigators revealed that another video later emerged, showing a group of youth, believed to be Ga residents, gathering at the late musician’s home. The prosecution informed the court that inquiries into the matter remain ongoing.
