President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day working visit to the Volta Region today as part of his government’s Resetting Ghana Tour. The tour will start in Juapong, where the President is expected to cut the sod for the construction of 18 24-hour Economy Model Markets across the region’s districts.
During his visit, President Mahama will also go to the Peki College of Education (GOVCO) and the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode. He will inspect ongoing work on the Asikuma-Ho Road, which is part of the Big Push Programme. Additionally, he is scheduled to inaugurate a District Police Headquarters for the Akatsi North District and host an educational durbar focused on the government’s Free Primary Health Care programme.
President Mahama will be accompanied by Ministers of State, heads of institutions, and Members of Parliament throughout the tour. On Friday, the President will hold a town hall meeting at the Ho Technical University to engage chiefs and residents of the region.
The engagement will provide an opportunity for the government to receive feedback on its key policy interventions and development projects in the Volta Region. Mahama is also expected to visit the Ho Sports Stadium to gather first-hand information on the current state of the facility.
