Foreign Ministry offers expedited passport replacement for flood victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an expedited replacement process for Ghanaians who lost or had their passports damaged during the recent devastating floods across the country. In a statement issued on July 3, the Ministry extended its deepest sympathies to all affected persons and expressed strong solidarity with compatriots impacted by the disaster, which has resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties.

The Ministry recognised that due to the floods, many Ghanaians may have either lost their passports or had them damaged. Affected individuals are requested to contact the Ministry from Friday, July 3 to Friday, July 17, 2026, on the dedicated number: 055 936 8563.

Callers should provide their name, date of birth, and gender as contained in the lost or damaged passports, as well as their phone numbers for easy access. The Ministry intends to replace all lost and damaged passports within a week. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its solidarity with all affected persons during this difficult period and its commitment to playing its role in supporting the government’s recovery efforts.
