Only weak men forgive a cheating partner – Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred online debate after asserting that men who forgive unfaithful partners are weak. Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, the 44‑year‑old delved into issues of loyalty, relationships, and infidelity. He argued that cheating impacts men and women differently, claiming that when a woman strays, it often signals she is no longer emotionally invested in her partner.

“If a woman truly loves you, she will go to great lengths for you,” he explained. “But many men are stuck with women who don’t love them, wasting their time. Such women won’t commit because their hearts belong elsewhere.” The actor further claimed that once a woman becomes unfaithful, she has already emotionally disconnected from the relationship.

“I tell you, once a woman begins to cheat, she has checked out emotionally and psychologically,” Edochie stated. Referencing a recent viral controversy involving an alleged affair between a married woman and a younger man, Edochie suggested that the woman’s emotional loyalty had shifted away from her husband.

I won’t mention names, but consider the recent scandal involving a young man accused of an affair with a married woman. While her husband pleaded with her to save their marriage, she chose instead to shield the young man—because he was the one she truly loved,” Yul Edochie remarked.

The actor stressed that men should never condone infidelity, insisting that forgiveness in such cases is a mark of weakness. “There is no forgiveness in cheating. If you forgive, you are a weak man,” he declared. Edochie further urged men to set firm boundaries and avoid emotional dependence on women. “People don’t realise women love more deeply. Find the one who truly loves you, and life becomes sweet. You’ll know when you meet her. But don’t be foolish for a woman. If you simp, you’ll never get a real one. Women don’t love weak men,” he added.
