The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 10 new cases of Mpox, raising the country’s total number of infections to 565 as of September 18. This increase continues a trend of rising reported cases over recent weeks. On September 1, the GHS recorded 27 new infections, bringing the national total to 494. This figure climbed to 519 on September 11, following the confirmation of 25 additional cases.
Health experts explain that Mpox primarily spreads through close contact with infected individuals. Common symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash. The GHS advises the public to practice good hygiene and to promptly report to the nearest health facility if they experience any of these symptoms.
