The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has instructed the acting Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) to provide a detailed list of all frequency authorizations that have been issued or renewed in the past 60 days. This directive was communicated in a memo on Wednesday, February 12. It is part of the government’s broader initiative called Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), which aims to reclaim state resources that have been transferred to private interests in ways that violate legal and procedural guidelines.
The Minister has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all assets under the Ministry’s jurisdiction are managed transparently and in accordance with due process.
“This marks the first phase of a comprehensive audit of all frequency authorizations to ensure proper use of state resources in the broadcasting sector,” it stated. The government plans to review the processes for issuing and renewing these authorizations to determine whether they comply with legal requirements and serve the state’s best interests. Additionally, the general public will be promptly informed of any subsequent actions related to the information received.
