Authorities have charged a 20-year-old interior decorator in connection with the death of a British man, following what investigators describe as an alleged sexual encounter. The case has drawn public attention due to its unusual circumstances and the age of the accused. Pearl Agbomadzi appeared before the Accra High Court, accused of killing John Scott Hughes, a British national who had been living in Ghana.
Prosecutors told the court that Mr Hughes had invited Ms Agbomadzi to meet him at American House. They say he later took her to Philipo’s Movie House in East Legon, where he booked a room for them. Details of what happened next were not immediately set out in court, but the prosecution alleges that the encounter led to Mr Hughes’s death. Ms Agbomadzi has been formally charged with murder. The case is expected to continue as the court examines the evidence.
