The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates. In a statement issued in Accra on Friday, WAEC said the results are now accessible online through the Council’s official website, www.waecgh.org. A total of 1,661 candidates, made up of 858 males and 803 females, registered for the private examination, which was conducted at 15 centres nationwide. Out of the total number, 31 candidates were absent.
WAEC disclosed that the results of three candidates have been withheld pending investigations into alleged examination malpractices. “Candidates whose results have been cancelled or withheld should visit https://waecgh.org and click on the withheld/cancelled button on the home page. They will be redirected to the Irregularity and Sanctions page. This page will display reasons for withholding or cancelling the results. For withheld results, the candidates will receive information on the next line of action,” the statement explained.
The Council also advised candidates and the general public to be vigilant against fraudsters who offer to upgrade examination results for a fee. “Candidates should be aware that WAEC results are secure and can be verified,” it emphasized. WAEC expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful administration of the examinations and the release of results.
“The Council appreciates the contributions of stakeholders, particularly the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, Security Agencies, Heads of Schools, Supervisors, Invigilators, Examiners, and everyone who supported the successful conduct of the examinations and the release of results,” concluded the statement signed by Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Head of Public Affairs.
