Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, has extended a heartfelt message of encouragement to the over 600,000 candidates preparing to write this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), scheduled to begin today, Wednesday, June 11, and end on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. In his goodwill message issued on Tuesday, the Minister applauded the students for their dedication and hard work throughout their years of basic education, describing the examination as “a significant milestone” in their academic journey.
“You have prepared for this moment, and now is the time to put your knowledge, skills, and confidence to the test,” he said. Urging the candidates to remain calm, focused, and honest, the Minister cautioned against all forms of examination malpractice and reminded them that the BECE is not only a test of memory but a reflection of their personal growth, character, and potential.
To our dear students, the entire nation stands behind you. We believe in your dreams and your potential to become the future leaders, innovators, and changemakers of Ghana,” he said. The Minister also expressed gratitude to parents and teachers for their continuous support, saying their contributions have been invaluable to the preparation and development of the candidates.
“May God bless you with clarity of thought, good health, and excellent performance. I look forward to celebrating your success as you take this important step toward a brighter future,” the statement concluded.
This year’s BECE will see a total of 603,328 candidates from across the country sit for the exams, marking one of the largest cohorts in recent years.
