Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from custody. He left the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) accompanied by former Attorney General Godfred Dame and his legal team. However, Adom-Otchere has reportedly been recalled by the OSP to complete some administrative procedures.
This development follows the OSP’s approval of revised bail conditions for Paul Adom-Otchere after negotiations with his legal counsel. In a statement released on Friday, August 1, the OSP confirmed that these revised terms meet the objectives of the original bail conditions and have been secured by the Jospong Group of Companies, which is acting as surety. The OSP noted that the matter is still under active investigation.
Adom-Otchere was recently charged by the OSP in connection with a revenue assurance contract between GACL and a private firm, allegedly awarded without full board approval. He was initially detained after failing to meet bail requirements, citing his lack of ownership of landed property in Ghana.
