The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes for 6,867 qualified nurses and midwives to facilitate their enrolment in the 2026/27 National Service Year. In a statement issued on Monday, January 19, 2026, the Authority explained that the PIN codes were generated following the submission of a list of eligible candidates by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana on Friday, January 16, 2026.
According to the NSA, the list includes candidates who successfully completed the March/April 2025 Licensing Examinations (minor season) conducted by the Council. The Authority has urged all eligible nurses and midwives to retrieve their PIN codes online. “All trained Nurses and Midwives are required to visit the Authority’s website and use their Student ID numbers and dates of birth to access their PIN codes via the portal,” the statement noted.
As part of the registration process, applicants are required to pay a fee. The Authority emphasised that “prospective service personnel must pay a registration fee of GH¢41.00 via Mobile Money on all networks in order to access the enrolment platform.” The enrolment exercise officially opens on January 19 and closes on January 23, 2026. Management has therefore urged all eligible applicants to complete their online registration within the stipulated timeframe.
The NSA also reminded the public that national service is a statutory obligation. “In line with the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every Ghanaian citizen aged eighteen (18) years or above who has completed an accredited tertiary institution is legally required to undertake national service to the State,” the statement added.
