The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that it is facing temporary technical difficulties following the introduction of a new system designed to implement revised fees and charges. In a public notice issued on February 2, 2026, the Authority explained that the challenges arose after deploying “a newly designed system to onboard the revised fees and charges.”
The NIA assured the public that its technical team is actively working to resolve the issues and restore normal operations. “Our technical team is diligently addressing these challenges and will ensure the system is fully stabilised and running smoothly in the shortest possible time,” the statement noted. The Authority further appealed to the public for patience and cooperation during this period.
“We respectfully request the patience and cooperation of the public as this process is completed,” the notice stated. To assist clients who may be affected, the NIA encouraged individuals to reach out through its official support channels. “Members of the public may contact us via all official social media platforms or through the NIA Call Centre on 0302 999 306 / 307 / 309 for further assistance,” it added.
The Authority reaffirmed its dedication to delivering reliable and uninterrupted identity services nationwide, emphasising its commitment to efficiency and service excellence. It also apologised for any inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding.
