The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its congratulations to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the smooth and orderly conduct of its presidential primary, which resulted in the election of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as flagbearer for the 2028 general elections. In a statement released on Sunday, the NDC described the exercise as “peaceful and well-organised,” noting that it reflected positively on Ghana’s democratic credentials.
The party further commended the Ghana Police Service for its professionalism in maintaining security throughout the process, emphasising that its role was crucial in ensuring peace and order. The NDC also welcomed the conciliatory remarks made by the unsuccessful aspirants, urging the NPP to uphold unity and stability as it moves forward. Beyond congratulating the NPP, the NDC reaffirmed its own commitment to multi-party cooperation and constructive engagement, underscoring the shared responsibility of all political actors in strengthening Ghana’s democracy.
