The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka-Mubarak, has lifted the curfew imposed on Bole township and its environs in the Savannah Region, effective Monday, December 8, through an Executive Instrument. According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, the decision took immediate effect following the restoration of peace and security in the area, and was based on the advice of the Savannah Regional Security Council.

The government has, however, urged chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to exercise restraint amid ongoing challenges and to adopt non-violent approaches in safeguarding peace.
Similarly, acting on the recommendation of the Savannah Regional Security Council, the Interior Minister has also lifted the curfew in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba township and its environs, with immediate effect.

This also followed peace and security in the area. Government continues to urge Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel.
