The Ministry of the Interior, in partnership with the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President, has announced a temporary suspension of the Ghanaian citizenship application process for historical diasporans. In a statement released on Sunday, February 1, the two institutions explained that the pause is part of a joint initiative to streamline and improve the system, ensuring it becomes more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly.
They noted that the suspension will provide space for essential adjustments aimed at delivering a smoother and more seamless experience once applications resume. The Ministry and the Diaspora Affairs Office reaffirmed their commitment to welcoming members of the global African family, assuring them of continued support. Updated timelines and revised guidelines, the statement added, will be communicated through official channels in due course
