Bawumia possesses leadership traits similar to Mahama – Karbo

Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, Senior Advisor to the 2025 Bawumia Campaign, has lauded the character of New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, highlighting his leadership qualities as comparable to those of President John Dramani Mahama. Karbo described President Mahama as a gentle and relatable leader who connects well with Ghanaians, and noted that Dr. Bawumia demonstrates similar attributes of humility, calmness, and approachability.

He argued that these traits make Dr. Bawumia a candidate well-positioned to meet the expectations of citizens seeking a president who listens and governs with composure. Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Karbo remarked:

“I am very happy with the way the campaign, the messaging, and his consistency have gone. If you listen to Bawumia in Cape Coast and then meet him in Yendi, you will hear the same message.

“He has shown remarkable consistency, and people are beginning to recognise him as a dependable presidential candidate—knowledgeable, humble, calm, and embodying the qualities Ghanaians desire in a leader. You cannot speak of President Mahama without acknowledging his gentle nature, which reflects the kind of composure citizens value. What people want is a candidate who is approachable, someone who listens. As a party in opposition, one of our strengths has been our ability to listen.”
