Meta Platforms announced on Tuesday that all new videos uploaded to Facebook will be classified as Reels. This change aims to simplify the way users publish visual content. According to the company, Reels on Facebook will no longer have restrictions on length or format, allowing for all types of video content, including short clips, long videos, and live broadcasts.
Previously uploaded videos will remain unchanged on the platform, but any videos posted after this update will be categorized as Reels. Additionally, the Video tab will be renamed the Reels tab. As part of the update, users will be prompted to confirm their audience settings or choose a new one if their feed posts and Reels have different settings. This update will also provide users with access to more creative tools. Meta plans to gradually roll out these changes to profiles and pages worldwide over the coming months.
