The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly has confirmed the arrival of 10,000 ‘Nkokɔ Nkitinkiti’ birds ahead of their planned distribution to households and farms to support local livelihoods. Municipal Chief Executive George Kpakpo Allotey, accompanied by senior officials, inspected the stock and allocation arrangements as part of accountability measures before rollout.
The inspection revealed that while a small number of birds died during transportation, the majority remain healthy and are responding well to care. The initiative forms part of preparations for allocation under efforts to boost local agricultural production in line with the policy direction of President John Dramani Mahama. Authorities indicated that the birds will be released to beneficiaries in due course.
