Former President John Dramani Mahama has sent his deepest condolences to families who lost their loved ones in the deadly explosion on Thursday afternoon at Apiate, a suburb of gold-mining town Bogoso in the Western Region.
The former Ghana leader prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured victims, urging rescuers on the ground to continue working assiduously “to alleviate the damage and suffering in the affected communities”.
His message was captured in a post on Facebook Thursday night. The post comes after several people were feared dead after a Tarkwa-bound truck carrying explosives for a mining company collided with a motorbike in Apiate.
The town has been rendered non-inhabitable as a result of the disaster.
A truly sad day for Ghana!
