Ghana Scholarships Authority opens 2026 intake

The Ghana Scholarships Authority has opened applications for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative aims to support academically gifted but financially disadvantaged Ghanaian students who have secured admission into accredited tertiary institutions nationwide. In a statement signed by the Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the Authority said the application process began on April 20, 2026, and will end on May 20, 2026. It warned that applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Applicants are expected to apply online through the official portal at [www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh](http://www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh). They are required to complete the application form and upload all relevant supporting documents.

The Authority also indicated that candidates who make it through the initial screening will be invited to take an aptitude test and attend an interview as part of the selection process. It advised all applicants to ensure that the information they submit is accurate and complete to avoid disqualification.

For further information, applicants can contact the Authority via email at [Apply@scholarships.gov.gh](mailto:Apply@scholarships.gov.gh) or call 0302907051 or 0302907058.
