The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has opened a new office in Kasoa, situated in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region. This new, ultra-modern facility aims to enhance access to driver and vehicle services for residents. With the availability of a wide range of services on-site, locals will no longer need to travel to offices in Weija, Winneba, or other distant locations, which often involve lengthy queues and delays.
During the commissioning ceremony, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, urged the DVLA to consider operating the center 24 hours a day to accommodate the growing demand in the area. “This is an ultra-modern center for the DVLA, and it is a state-of-the-art facility. I hope they will begin 24-hour operations because the population in Kasoa is very large. If I work from morning until evening and know that my license will expire within a week, I should be able to come in at night to get my papers processed,” she stated.
Authorities also announced that vehicles registered at the Kasoa office will carry the prefix “KS,” identifying them as registered within the municipality. The opening of the facility is expected to enhance service delivery and bring relief to residents and businesses in one of the country’s fastest-growing urban centres.
