Ghana: Afro-Arab Group Signs MoU With Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Afro-Arab Group of Companies, led by its Founder and President, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) on Wednesday, March 11. This agreement took place during the 3rd Executive Business Meeting organized as part of Ghana Month’s activities, under the theme “Ghana Month Business Showcase.” The meeting gathered business leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from various sectors to explore opportunities for economic growth and collaboration in business.

During the meeting, the Greater Accra Chapter Chairman of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry commended Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu and the Afro-Arab Group for their commitment to supporting Ghana’s transition to environmentally friendly transportation through the introduction of electric vehicles. He praised the company’s forward-looking approach to sustainable mobility and described the initiative as a significant step toward reducing carbon emissions while promoting modern transportation solutions in the country.

The Chairman also lauded the Afro-Arab Group’s innovative Work and Pay initiative, noting that the programme has created opportunities for many young people across the country. According to him, the initiative is playing a vital role in addressing youth unemployment by giving individuals the opportunity to work with electric vehicles while gradually paying for them through flexible arrangements.

Afro-Arab Group has demonstrated strong leadership in promoting green mobility while also addressing youth unemployment. Their Work and Pay model is a practical solution that empowers young people to earn a living while owning productive assets,” he said. In his remarks, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu expressed appreciation to the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the partnership and emphasised the importance of collaboration among private sector organisations in advancing national development.

He mentioned that, as a council member of the Chamber, it is his duty to ensure that members benefit from the opportunities created through such partnerships. He clarified that the agreement will provide members of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry with access to electric vehicles through a flexible financing arrangement with the Afro-Arab Group. According to him, Chamber members will be able to acquire electric vehicles and pay for them over a 36-month period without any interest.

“This partnership will allow members of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to access electric vehicles and pay over a 36-month period without interest. It is part of our commitment to supporting businesses while promoting environmentally friendly transportation,” he stated. He further added that the initiative aligns with efforts by the Government of Ghana to promote green energy and sustainable transport solutions across the country.

Ambassador Amadu emphasised that the collaboration will not only support businesses within the Chamber but will also contribute to accelerating the country’s green transition agenda. The Memorandum of Understanding between the Afro-Arab Group and the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry is expected to strengthen business partnerships while expanding the adoption of electric vehicles within Ghana’s commercial sector.
