The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Ernest Darko Akore, a former Chef de Cabinet (Technical Advisor) at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption and related offences linked to the Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ministry and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
According to an official notice released by the OSP, Mr. Akore is wanted pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the High Court – Criminal Division, in the case of Republic v. Ernest D. Akore (Suit No. 05/0397/2023).
The OSP’s statement described Mr. Akore as a 67-year-old male, born on 5 February 1958, with black eyes and black hair and a brown complexion. He is believed to be a possible dual Ghanaian-American national, having held a U.S. passport in previous years. His current whereabouts are unknown, but authorities suspect he may be in the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, or South Africa.

The OSP further underscored that Mr. Akore is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.
