Ablekuma North: Suspected ‘uniformed impostors’ arrested

The Ghana Police Service has arrested several individuals dressed in brown uniforms who were posing as security personnel near the Awoshie DVLA polling station in the Ablekuma North Constituency. According to sources from Citi News, these individuals could not provide proper identification when questioned and were subsequently taken to the Odorkor Police Station for further investigation.

They were found stationed near the entrance of the polling center, and their inability to produce valid identification raised suspicions among the officers assigned to ensure security during the ongoing parliamentary election re-run.

John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region, confirmed the arrests and indicated that the police suspect the individuals may not be genuine members of any recognised state security agency.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the identities and intent of the suspects.
