Projections from the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) indicate that fuel prices at retail stations may increase starting tomorrow, July 1, 2025. According to COMAC, petrol prices could rise by 2 percent, while diesel prices may increase by 5 percent. Additionally, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is expected to go up by 1 percent. This marks the first increase in fuel prices since February 2025.
Dr. Riverson Oppong, the Chief Executive of COMAC, shared this information during a news conference in Accra. “Even before implementing the amended Energy Sector Levy, which has been suspended, our projections suggest that pump prices may rise,” he stated. “I can confirm that petrol is likely to increase by 2 percent, LPG may rise slightly above 1 percent, and diesel will probably see a 5 percent increase. This forecast considers all factors, including NPA price build-ups.”
The Chamber is also calling for a review of the regulations in the petroleum downstream sector to enable more cost-effective operations.
