Mahama nominates 40 DCEs for Ashanti Region

President John Dramani Mahama in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) (as amended), has nominated 40 individuals to be appointed as District Chief Executives (DCEs) for the various districts in Ashanti Region. Their nomination is subject to approval by their respective Assemblies.

The Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, along with the Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, announced the nomination of the District Chief Executives (DCEs) in a letter dated May 6, 2025. The nominees are as follows: Ibrahim Yamba, Nelson Issaka for the Ahafo Ano South East District, Benjamin Marfo for Amansie South, and Frank Owusu Amoah for Offinso South. Additionally, Samuel Somuah has been nominated as the DCE for Sekyere Central, Joseph Amankwa for Kwabre East, and Ben Abdallah Alhassan for Asokore Mampong.
