The Auditor-General has initiated a thorough nationwide payroll audit focusing on all entities within the Controller and Accountant-General’s payroll system, including subvented organizations. This audit will review the payroll records of Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and subvented bodies for the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. Additionally, a complete headcount of all government-paid staff will be conducted as part of this exercise.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Auditor-General, all affected institutions have been urged to grant auditors full and unrestricted access to all relevant records. “The Office of the Auditor-General calls on all institutions to provide unhindered access to books, returns, and other documents, including computerized and electronic records, to ensure the audit is completed smoothly and within schedule,” the statement said.
