Bawumia will win December polls – Nana Akomea

Nana Akomea, Vice Chairman of the Bawumia Campaign Team, has expressed strong confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, will emerge victorious in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking during an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Channel One TV, Akomea acknowledged that the ultimate decision rests with the electorate but emphasized his belief in Bawumia’s ability to secure a win.

He also highlighted the party’s determination to perform well across the country, particularly in the Greater Accra Region, where the NPP aims to win a majority of parliamentary seats. “I’m confident but it remains at that level of confidence. The NDC too, if someone were to speak for them, will also be confident, they will remain at that level of confidence.

“Fortunately for us, in another three weeks, the electorate will speak and everybody will see their confidence level. But I’m optimistic that Dr Bawumia will win the elections and the NPP will carry parliamentary votes.”

In response to a question about whether the departure of three Members of Parliament to independent status would impact their chances of securing a majority, he expressed confidence, stating, “If we have a majority of 20 and we’re going to get a comfortable majority. That is my confidence.”
