O’Reilly SHS recently celebrated the completion of a brand-new, advanced classroom building. This achievement was the result of hard work, dedication, and a common goal to improve education. The building was constructed by Mr. Samuel Quansah Quarcoo and his associates located in the United States of America. It is a remarkable addition to the school, designed to foster the growth and development of young minds.
The dedication ceremony, held on 15th, August, 2023, was attended by faculty, students, parents, community members old students, and esteemed guests who all gathered to celebrate the completion of the Visual Art Classroom Block. The ceremony was a testament to the power of collaboration, showcasing the collective effort of educators, administrators, students, and supporters in shaping the future of Visual Art Education at O’Reilly SHS.
The Visual Art Classroom Block stands as a symbol of modernity and progress. Inside the newly built classroom, the emphasis on innovative learning spaces is evident. Flexibility was a key consideration, allowing teachers to adapt the space to different instructional needs and encouraging interactive and engaging learning experiences.
At the dedication ceremony, Mr. Samuel Quansah Quarcoo gave an uplifting speech emphasizing the importance of the building in cultivating future leaders. He stated, “This new building goes beyond just being made of bricks and cement. It reflects our dedication to providing students with a setting that encourages intellectual development, critical thinking, and the acquisition of skills that will benefit them in a constantly changing world.”
The ceremony was also an opportunity to recognize and honour contributors who made the project a reality. From generous donors like; The Segal Family Foundation, The Nathan Landow Family Partnership, Mr & Mrs Jared Drescher, Mrs Irma Poretsky, Mr & Mrs Joseph Dreyfuss, and Mr & Mrs Glenn Rosenthal. Well-Wishes at Woodmont Country Club and Friends in the United States of America who supported the project financially.
The support team in Ghana, the architects, construction teams, and faculty members who provided their expertise, and every individual involved played a crucial role in transforming a dream into a tangible space for learning.
The Headmistress of O’Reilly SHS said, “The unveiling of the Visual Art Building, serves as a reminder that education is a collaborative endeavour, one that requires the support and dedication of an entire community and well-wisher. The building will undoubtedly shape the experiences and aspirations of countless students for generations to come.”
After the ceremony ended, the attendees departed with a revived feeling of pride, enthusiasm, and eagerness for the Visual Art Building to make a transformative impact on education and inspire young, brilliant minds.
In addition to the Visual Art Building, Mr Samuel Quansah Quarcoo and friends, also donated 22 brand new laptops, solar lights, 300 dua desks, school bags and stationaries worth thousands of dollars.
