Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom’s final journey in pictures

After four days of mourning, which included various cultural practices and rituals, the Asanteman community bid farewell to Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III on Thursday night, away from the public eye.

The procession to the Breman Royal Mausoleum (Ban mu) in Kumasi, the sacred burial site for Ashanti royals, began just before dusk.

Pallbearers carried the remains of the Asantehemaa, leading a long procession of esteemed elders from Ashanti and members of the royal family to her final resting place.

This marked the concluding act of the burial process, which had commenced the previous Monday.

The nation, led by President John Dramani Mahama and other dignitaries, including former Presidents J.A. Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, united in mourning with the royal family, as reported by Gilbert Mawuli Agbey from Kumasi for Graphic Online.
