I’ll be President for all regardless of religious and ethnic affiliations – Bawumia

Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to be president for all Ghanaians irrespective of their political, religious or ethnic affiliation. Dr Bawumia also promises to protect the diversity of Ghana.

He made these pronouncements after praying and interacting with the National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Imams and Zongo Chiefs, in Accra on Tuesday, December 3, at a special thanksgiving and prayer session for the nation.

He said the prayer session was also for a peaceful election and for God’s favour for him on December 7, as he seeks to be elected President to serve our dear country.

Dr Bawumia also seized the opportunity to share his political “journey of destiny, the achievements of the NPP and our positive impact on the Zongo community through the Zongo Development Fund”, as well as “my vision and transformative policies I seek to implement as President, God willing.”

In a Facebook post after the event, he said “I also reiterated my commitment to be President for all, regardless of religious and ethnic affiliations, to protect and strengthen the beautiful diversity of our country.

“I thank the National Chief Imam, the Imams, Zongo Chief and all those who attended, for the special prayers for our country, and for my success on Saturday, December 7, in shaa Allah.” Ghanaians will be going to the polls on December 7 to elect a new president and Members of Parliament.
