The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of GH¢15,849,920 to cover the payment of practical fees for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Form Three learners across the country. This initiative aims to ensure that all schools are properly equipped for the upcoming practical examinations.
In a press statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, it was explained that the released funds will be used to provide the necessary materials and resources required for the smooth conduct of the practicals. The statement highlighted the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and guardians, allowing students to focus on their academic preparation.
“With the release of these funds, GES seeks to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to concentrate on their studies, while relieving parents and guardians of financial stress,” the statement read. Additionally, it urged regional, district, and school authorities to ensure the proper use of the funds for their intended purpose to guarantee efficiency and accountability.
“Management will continue to monitor the utilisation processes to ensure compliance and to maintain high standards in the administration of the examination,” it stated. The statement said the GES appreciated the cooperation of all stakeholders in advancing quality education and remained dedicated to creating an enabling environment for the success of all students.
