The National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dappah, has demonstrated that the country’s security engineering will regard law and order and the major basic liberties of residents without bargaining security.

Mr. Kan Dappah kept up that the security arrangement won’t permit anybody to represent a danger to the country.

The tasks of National Security have gone under the radar lately following the supposed inclusion of agents in some criminal operations and the maltreatment of people in their authority like the new capture of Citi FM and Citi TV writers, and the resulting attack of the premises of the media house a month ago.

Yet, talking at the dispatch of a public safety methodology record on Monday, June 7, 2021, Albert Kan Dappah said public safety won’t settle on the overall security of the country.

He anyway said the security engineering will consistently regard the key basic freedoms of Ghanaians revered in the 1992 Constitution.

“… And may I guarantee all Ghanaians that we promise to regard law and order, crucial basic liberties, and opportunities of all Ghanaians as revered in the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, however, let me likewise alert that the regard for basic freedoms can’t and should not be undermined with key dangers to public safety”.

A few associations and people have called for changes in the manner the National Security especially does its activities.

About Caleb Kudah’s difficulty

Mr. Caleb Kudah was captured at the National Security Ministry on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, for recording deserted MASLOC vehicles left at the premises of the Ministry.

He was at the Ministry to confirm a case by authority of MASLOC that every one of the vehicles had been given out.

This was after Caleb Kudah had griped about the wastage of public assets via online media.

A group of vigorously equipped SWAT cops, therefore, were dispatched to capture Citi News’ Zoe Abu-Baidoo Addo at the premises of Citi FM/Citi TV.

This is on the grounds that Caleb had sent a portion of the recording he caught to Zoe by means of WhatsApp.

Mr. Caleb Kudah in a meeting with Bernard Avle on The Point Of View on Citi TV showed that he was slapped a few times by the security officials.

Around 15 associations including common society gatherings and ideological groups have denounced the episode and supported calls for examinations, whiles calling for changes in the public safety arrangement.

The National Security after primer examinations said its authorities acted improperly in the break of standard strategy while blaming Mr. Kudah of unlawful section into its premises.

They have anyway been not able to charge Mr. Kudah or Zoe Abu-Baidoo Addo.

In the interim, it has eliminated its Director of Operations Lieutenant Col. Forthright Agyeman and three officials including the Commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) at the Ministry, DSP Samuel Azugu.

Col. Agyemang has along these lines been designated as the Commanding Officer of the 64 Infantry Battalion of the Ghana Armed Forces while DSP Samuel Azugu has now been shipped off the National Operation Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service.

Other coordinated bodies have been appealed to by the administration of Citi FM over the episode.
